Diode laser, produced by the American firm Coherent, is the newest device for removing unwanted hairs. The firm has existed since 1966 and it is the world?s leader in laser production, used both in medicine and cosmetics.
Laser Sheer TM Diode Laser System has got the certificate of safety and quality issued by the U.S. FDA ( Food &Administration) which is recognised all over the world.

The length of the wave emitted by the laser is 800nm and it penetrates the skin to the depth of 2 mm. It acts only on the surface without affecting body functions. The laser emits a mild beam of rays, going inside a hair follicle, destroying the root permanently.
It must be mentioned that hairs do not grow at the same rate. Some of them are in the stage of growing (they can be seen on the skin) and such hairs react to the laser?s light. The remaining hairs are in the phase of ?sleep? which lasts from 3 to 8 weeks. After this period the hairs begin to grow quickly, so the procedure has to be repeated a minimum of 3 times to remove almost all hairs. During the first procedure 40-60% of hairs are removed and after three procedures 92%. Those which are left are lighter, more delicate and invisible.
If hairs have been earlier removed by means of wax, a mechanical hair-remover or tweezers, a fourth and fifth procedure may have to be applied to obtain better results.

Traditional methods of hair removing such as shaving, pulling out with tweezers or by means of wax give only temporary effects. Up to now electrolysis has been the only effective method. Unfortunately it is very painful and time-taking. Side effects of these methods are very often scars, overcolouring, allergic reactions and in growing hairs.
Before the procedure the skin should be washed, shaved, cleared of cream, ointment and make up.
Each skin reacts individually to the procedure. Skin reddening is likely to appear but it passes after a few days.
